Andrea Meller
Andrea was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and moved to LA in 2004. She graduated from Temple University/Tyler School of Art, with a BA in studio art. She also holds an MA in human development from Pacific Oaks College. Andrea's masters thesis focused on the arts, their importance, and how they are affected by racism, sexism, and classism. Her degree in human development gave her great insight as a parent, educator, and life coach.
As a life coach, Andrea focuses on motivation, organization, wellness, and creative coaching. She completed her studies with The Institute for Life Coach Training under the Board Certified Program. Andrea really enjoys working with clients of all ages and those that possess an entrepreneurial or creative spirit. She has worked with clients on career change, health and wellness, organizational and motivational strategies.
Andrea currently teaches and writes curriculum for an innovative middle school social skill inclusion program. She uses a lot of art and technology to support learning in the classroom. Andrea taught robotics to middle school students for several years. Teaching is very natural for Andrea and she has always focused on education in all of her degree work.
Before becoming a teacher, Andrea worked in the IT field as a database administrator. She has over ten years experience in the field and has worked in both schools and non-profits. She changed professions to become a teacher and has loved every minute of her teaching career.
Andrea is married with two children, ranging in age from a toddler to a teenager. A lot of her experience and knowledge about children comes from being a parent. As well as being an educator and parent, Andrea also devotes a great deal of time and passion to her painting and writing.
In Andrea's spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, mostly running and hiking with her husband and kids. Andrea and her family often set out for marathon walks that they refer to as urban hiking as well as hiking the trails of Southern California. Andrea is a fitness enthusiast and has researched a lot about nutrition when she became a vegetarian over 10 years ago. She has made baby food for her daughter and continues to read and study nutrition on her own.
